Molly Metzgar has announced her candidacy for Somerset County Judge of the Court of Common Pleas.

As District Attorney, Molly Metzgar has made it her priority to aggressively prosecute drug dealers, child predators, animal abusers, and domestic batterers to the fullest extent of the law.

Molly takes an active role in the office while managing the staff and carrying a full case load.

“I am proud of the work that I have done to push back against criminal activity,” said Metzgar.

During her tenure, Metzgar’s office has achieved successful convictions for murder, child molestation, and rape, while at the same time convicting a multitude of drug dealers with felony drug charges and removing large quantities of illegal drugs from our streets.

Prior to serving as District Attorney, Metzgar was engaged in private legal practice, focusing on a wide array of legal topics including: family law, real estate, estates & trusts, civil litigation, landlord tenant disputes, adoptions, as well as other areas. This varied legal background will serve the citizens of Somerset County well if she is given the opportunity to sit as Judge.

Metzgar’s passion for justice, coupled with her legal experience makes her a well-rounded candidate, ready to preside over a myriad of issues that may come before the court; swiftly administering justice based upon the law and facts of every case. Metzgar said, “I look forward to continuing to serve the community that I have called home my entire life.”

Molly is a lifelong Somerset County resident, member of the Berlin Fire Department Auxiliary and an NRA member. She graduated from Somerset Area School District and then went on to graduate summa cum laude from Duquesne University with a dual major in only three years.

Molly then attended Duquesne University School of Law graduating with honors. Molly has proven through her service as District Attorney that she is fully committed to ensuring our county is a safe place to live, work and raise a family.

Metzgar lives on a farm in Somerset Township with her husband Carl and their children.
